EverBee’s free Hobby plan is easy to start, but the sales and revenue numbers most people install it for sit behind Growth. This guide compares Hobby vs Growth using EverBee’s official pricing page and Help Center—so you can decide whether free is enough or when to upgrade.

We have not run our own hands-on test. Feature lists and prices below are taken from EverBee’s site as of October 13, 2026. Prices can change; check the pricing page before you pay.

Quick answer

  • Hobby is free forever and needs no credit card. EverBee’s FAQ says there is no separate free trial of paid plans—Hobby is the way to try the product.
  • Hobby shows views, reviews and favorites in Product Analytics. It does not include sales, revenue or conversion rate.
  • Growth unlocks sales, revenue, conversion rate, listing trends, unlimited keyword research with Keyword Score, Tag Analyzer, AI Actions (100/month), MCP access and larger favorites limits.
  • Growth pricing: annual billing is advertised as a discount vs paying month-to-month.
  • You don’t need an Etsy shop to start. EverBee’s Help Center says a regular Etsy buyer or seller account is enough to connect.

What you get on Hobby (free)

On the pricing page, Hobby is aimed at “starters exploring their first product ideas.” Officially it includes:

  1. Product Analytics (limited): views, reviews and favorites—not sales or revenue.
  2. Keyword Research: 10 keywords per the plan card (not unlimited, and no Keyword Score on Hobby).
  3. Basic filters for narrowing results.
  4. Favorites: 5 keywords, 5 shops, 1 custom folder.

That is enough to:

  • Install the free Chrome extension and see how EverBee sits on Etsy pages.
  • Browse niches and compare public signals (views, favorites, reviews).
  • Run a small number of keyword lookups before you open a shop.

It is not enough if your goal is to sort listings by estimated monthly sales or revenue. EverBee’s Product Analytics help article notes that the premium metrics on that feature are only available on Growth and Business.

What Growth unlocks

Growth is labeled for sellers “ready to scale with full data.” From the same pricing page, the paid plan adds:

  • Product Analytics: sales, revenue and conversion rate.
  • Trends & growth rate on individual listings (last month through all time on Growth).
  • Unlimited keyword research with Keyword Score.
  • Advanced filters (3 Hot Filters) and Tag Analyzer.
  • AI Actions: 100 per month.
  • MCP access (so tools like Claude can query EverBee research data on supported plans).
  • Larger favorites: 1,000 keywords, 100 shops, 10 custom folders, unlimited folder uses.
  • 3 store connections and priority chat/email support.

If you mainly want competitor sales estimates and deeper keyword work, these are the features you are paying for. For how Keyword Score is calculated, see how EverBee calculates Keyword Score. For how estimates relate to what Etsy shows publicly, see How to see Etsy sales of other sellers.

How EverBee’s sales and revenue numbers work (important)

Even on Growth, sales and revenue are estimates, not Etsy’s private transaction data.

EverBee’s Product Analytics docs describe monthly sales as total sales divided by listing age, and monthly revenue as price × monthly sales. Its How does EverBee work? article says Etsy does not share exact sales history with third parties, so EverBee models estimates from signals such as views, favorites, listing dates and prices—and calls the result “a guide, not exact results.”

Treat Growth data as a ranking and filtering aid inside one niche, not as a guarantee that a product will sell for you.

Do you need an Etsy shop?

No. EverBee’s Help Center article Can I use EverBee without having a store? says you can use the software without a store: create an Etsy account (buyer or seller) and connect it.

That makes Hobby useful for pre-launch research: pick a niche before you pay Etsy listing fees. Connecting your own shop later mainly helps with your shop-level views inside EverBee; research features do not require you to already be selling.

Hobby vs Growth: which should you choose?

Stay on Hobby if you:

  • Are still deciding whether Etsy (or a niche) is worth pursuing.
  • Only need a feel for the UI and public signals (views, favorites, reviews).
  • Are fine with a 10-keyword research cap and no sales/revenue columns.

Upgrade to Growth if you:

  • Are about to launch or refresh a batch of listings and need to compare estimated sales/revenue across many products.
  • Want unlimited keyword research and Keyword Score.
  • Need Tag Analyzer or listing-level trends to study competitors more deeply.

Practical path many beginners use: start on Hobby with a buyer account → shortlist niches → upgrade for an active research month (monthly billing) or take annual Growth if you research every week. Always re-check the pricing page and EverBee’s Terms of Service for current refund rules before you pay. If you take the one-month route, remember that Growth renews until you cancel it; how to cancel your EverBee subscription covers the steps and the 3-day monthly refund window.
